AMC is the latest network to announce the anthology series based on hit performance – in this case, The Walking Dead. The upcoming anthology series will be called dead stories, and it will tell a new story through a single independent episode that displays new characters in the zombie apocalypse. This series will be available on AMC and AMC +.
In contrast to the existing dead TV show, the upcoming title will tell smaller stories, one per episode, to expand the scope of viewers of the universe has spent years of watching. Characters from existing shows will also make appearances in the anthology in addition to the new actor, potentially offering fresh retrieval in the increasingly stale hit series.
According to a deadline, Channing Powell will function as anthological showing with a production set to start early 2022. AMC only ordered six episodes for the anthological series, which will be available to watch in the AMC next summer, as well as on AMC + Streaming Platform.
Every episode will be one hour length. AMC and McDermott explained that by adopting the anthological format, the team behind the show will have more fans of “flexibility to entertain” while also making it easier for newcomers to jump into a zombie full universe. Among other things, the team teases “the story isn’t like what we said before.”
Walking dead is not the first hit TV program to get its own spinoff anthology. The latest example is the latest American horror story with anthological series of American horror stories that debuted earlier this summer. Anthology shows can also function as a good buffer between the full season for a larger series where they are based.
