DoorDash establishes $1M relief fund for restaurants hit by natural disasters

Over the coming time, DoorDash has allocated$ to support original caffs affected by state or federally declared natural disasters. With help from Hello Alice, it’ll distribute$ subventions to businesses that can use the finances to pay for essential charges like rent, inventories and payroll in times of need. Starting on November 1st, the companies will reuse operations every three months, with backing to follow shortly later. 

Presently, the program is only available to caffs in the US. Other eligibility conditions include that a business proprietor operate three caffs or lower. None of those locales may have generated further than$ 3 million in profit over the last 12 months. Specially, a cooperation with DoorDash or Caviar is n’t needed to apply for the program. 

The relief fund comes as food delivery apps face adding scrutiny from original governments. The City of Chicago lately launched separate suits against DoorDash and GrubHub, criminating the two companies of using bait-and- switch tactics to mislead consumers. New York City also lately passed broad legislation aimed at guarding workers of app- grounded delivery services.
