Intel Core i9-12900K CPU leak suggests it could be a Ryzen 5950X killer

Intel Core i9-12900k has been seen in more Lake Alder leaks, with other spilled benchmarks that show that we will get promising performance from 12-genes.

This comes from HXL Twitter-based LEAKER HARDA (again) which marks several benchmarks intended in bilibili, shows 12900K which is placed through its steps in the Cinebench R20 and CPU-Z.

As observed, benchmarks are carried out under Windows 11 with DDR4 RAM systems, using QS samples or qualifications (meaning this is the final pre-release version and must be quite identical to the retail chip).

In Cinebench R20, the performance of the single-threaded core i9-12900k proved almost 20% faster than 11900K, and the same story applies to the CPU-Z (actually 12900K 21% faster here).

In multi-threaded testing with cinebench, 12900K is 65% faster than 11900K, and only a smidge is faster than AMD Ryzen 9 5950x. With CPU-Z, the superior Alder Lake is 75% better than 11900K, and is very close to 5950x (AMD 3% chip is faster here, so it only has advantages).

ANALYSIS: Eye Opening Performance Again

We must, of course, apply ordinary and careful warnings around leaked benchmarks, but this is a series of results leaking for promising alder lakes. That the only core performance that beats the current rocket gene of 20% in two benchmarks is an eye opener, and multi-core speed which is roughly equal to the Ryzen 9 5950X is also very impressive (single threaded performance is much better than. Ryzen chip also up to 27% and 18% faster on CPU-Z and each cinebench).

Another point to remember here is that 5950x is a 16-core bristling CPU with 32-three, compared to the 12900K thread configuration (it will run with 8 core full power performance, and 8 efficiency, with the last one does not have hyper-threading ). So the Ryzen chip has an 8-thread advantage here, and remembers, the final retail chip 12900K can be even better, especially if it is paired with DDR5 RAM (DDR4 is used in testing rounds as mentioned).

If there is one area for a touch of attention at first glance, it is a power consumption that presses 257W in a stress test here, and the temperature reaches 108C – but it must be done with a cooling solution that seems fudged (it is not installed correctly) LEAKER must hire at here. In other words, take it with many spices, and the thermal performance of the actual product will be much better (possibly in the same stream as 11900k).

Overall, this is a very promising leak for Intel, and another that seems to show that Alder Lake can be a real headache for AMD and Ryzen desktop dominance.
