Why I won’t use iPhone 13’s MagSafe wallet, even though it’s better than ever

Nothing is more frustrated than the wrong placing item; Whether it’s a TV remote, your home key, or your wallet. Spend time searching for items, or worse, forking out to replace items is not something we want to do.

According to research by Pixie, the Locator application for the iPhone, 20% of Americans place their wallets wrong every week, and the cost of $ 2.7 billion per year to replace items that have never been found. So, when Apple launched an iPhone leather wallet with Magsafe for the iPhone 12 years ago, I, well, was surprised.

After all, it’s one thing that saves your debit card or credit digitally on the iPhone through Apple payments so that it can only be used to pay for goods and services when the ID is touched or the face ID is activated, but attaching your physical card to your back of your phone kasing with a magnet . If you are a serial loser like me, it asks for a problem.

However, this year Apple has taken a step towards fixing the problem by launching a new version of the iPhone leather wallet with Magsafe, at the same time as the iPhone 13, which supports my service. This means you can track its location if it’s released from the phone, in the same way as Apple Airtag. Although, in my opinion it still loses one vital feature.

Not enough airtag

Magsafe is a small magnetic coil behind the iPhone that ensures smartphones can be charged wireless without having to worry about positioning the handset in the right place on wireless chargers. It also provides scope for various accessories to attach to the back of the smartphone too – one of them is this card holder.

I have never been a fan of phone cases that have slots so you can save your credit card – for me it feels like I bundle too many important items together, and if I misit them, it will produce a big headache. However, when Apple launched an iPhone leather wallet with Magsafe last year, I tried to survive with it.

Magsafe creates a strong relationship between wallets and telephones, so there is no fear to slide out of the phone without reason, but when my cellphone is at the bottom of my bag and wavy with other items such as make-up, key, anti-bacterial hand gel The like, I found there was a chance when it took off the phone accidentally.

There is also no way to get a credit card or ID from the wallet without removing it from the phone first, which is at least, for me, increases the opportunity to place it in a shop or cafe, and forget to take it back again.

However, the iPhone leather wallet version is redipped with Magsafe, which was launched at the same time as the iPhone 13 and available now from the Apple Store supports my found application.

This means you can see the last location on the map in the application and get a notification when the wallet has been separated from your smartphone more than a minute. However, unlike airtags you can’t make a wallet emit electronic beep to help you find it easier if you misstall the wallet in your home.

Also does not have a precision discovery feature, which uses Ultra Wideband radio technology to identify the distance and direction of your iPhone from items, and display information on the screen with haptic feedback to help you find Actag.

However, this is not my biggest problem – instead is that Apple finds a network of devices I cannot be used to help reunite you with a wallet if it is completely lost, rather than just a temporary wrong place.
