Magic Leap 2 AR headset revealed: Dimming, larger FOV, smaller size

Magic Leap has taken a pack of the next generation of augmented reality glasses. Magic Leap 2 is scheduled for “general availability” in 2022, according to CEO Peggy Johnson company, who recently talked about the latest AR headsets in an interview with CNBC. According to Johnson, Magic Leap 2 will be the “smallest and most lightweight device company.”

Magic Leap 2 is, like its expensive and thick predecessor, augmented reality headsets designed to coat information in the real world. Johnson explained that the company focused on the company’s application with Magic Leap 2, digging several ways the technology has been used by large companies for things such as employee training.

Magic Leap 2 is, as you would expect, more advanced than the first generation model. Johnson said in a long editorial on LinkedIn that Magic Leap 2 offers more comfort and immersion compared to previous models, as well as smaller form factors “significantly”. In addition, Magic Leap 2 supports dimming for use in a bright environment and what Johnson claimed is “the biggest field of view in the industry.”

Johnson said the company aims to facilitate the needs of the main company, which is the ability to wear an AR headset throughout the day without discomfort. Magic Leap has scored partner in various industries, including defense, health care, technology, and manufacturing, Johnson revealed, also noted that “extraordinary innovation” is still needed when it comes to integrating augmented reality with the real world.

The CEO of Magic Leap Peggy Johnson continued by saying:

Just as I have a front row seat at the beginning of my career to ride mobile, I strongly believe that the next wave of digital transformation will be driven by AR. It’s not to say this evolution will be easy – it’s a difficult job. AR still needs extraordinary innovation to solve for many challenges combining the physical and digital world into one.

But this is where Magic Leap is superior. We are a pioneer in a field full of possibilities, and I am very proud of our team and innovation and tireless ingenuity.
