Apart from the top three, before four, US network operators, there are quite a number of small operators serving a more specific telephone market segment. The emergence of virtual network operators MVNOS or cellular only increases the number of players, but this often still calls a larger network in their homes. Visible, for example, is Verizon’s efforts to serve more customer conscious customers, and may be the latest victims of security violations that have customers in the arm.
The internet is flooded by complaints on social media and sites such as reddit originating from dissatisfied customers who look that they feel that they are currently not visible by the operator. This number of screaming because of their account loss with some unknown entities resetting their email addresses and effectively locking them. However, it was only the peak of the iceberg, and many of these complainants suddenly found themselves for cellphones that they did not buy.
Some anecdotes painted a nightmare scenario for every consumer, charged with a $ 1,000 phone that didn’t really buy. Some who bought the phone found that the shipping address for the phone was changed, which meant that other people would receive the device. Making worse problems is the silence of the company in the midst of increasing crying.
When publishing this article, both Verizon and seen have recognized one of these complaints. The closest is the post on the Reddit of hiring that is seen saying that they are investigating unauthorized information on “small number” accounts. Post then recommend that the user change their password, even if there is no security violation involved.
That suggestion will make sense if it looks alone does not disable the ability of users to reset their passwords or change billing information. Network operators also do not apply authentication of two factors, which will mitigate the effects of the hacking incidence. Unfortunately, the situation makes customers affected without other ways than to vent their frustration through the internet while waiting for a visible response.
