With all the attention you like Apple, Samsung, and even Oneplus get today, it is almost too easy to forget that there is a big name that was previously still running race mats known as the smartphone market. HTC may quietly slide into the background to serve a very specific market, but Sony is still trying hard in almost all countries served. But it didn’t really make a big step, so it was rather surprising that it had scheduled an announcement for new Xperia products in about two weeks.
Sony has actually launched the three main Xperia seeds for this year, all of them are characterized by “III” (Numeral 3) to show the third generation of this particular iteration. Xperia 1 III naturally is a group leader, with top-class specifications and suitable price labels. Xperia 5 III and Xperia 10 III, on the other hand, take the features of some notches to meet a more limited budget.
It was pretty much left another thing for Sony to announce, at least as far as the top class smartphone left. However, it still leaves space for fewer premium devices that the company is given at one point in time. Actually there were Xperia 10 III lite a few months ago which didn’t really make waves, but there was also the Xperia L series that hadn’t seen the 2021 incarnation.
Regardless of what was actually planned, Sony was scheduled a virtual event October 26 for the announcement. If indeed the telephone, it will be one of the last new models to drop this year, just in time before the holiday shopping season starts.
Of course, it’s also risky overshadowed by big names that will have their own events in the coming days. Pixel 6 is likely to take the middle stage, but Oneplus 9 RT will also compete to be considered, perhaps at a different market level.
